She is also a personal leadership coach. Maureen has provided strategic and communication guidance to more than a hundred purpose-driven organizations around the world, including NGOs, foundations, government agencies and social enterprises. She is very active in home state Rhode Island, including with the Rhode Island Departments of Health and Education, the van Beuren Charitable Foundation, the Newport Open Space Partnership, and others. This work has spanned health equity, environmental preservation and conservation, early childhood development, and economic opportunity.
Maureen is dedicated to community involvement. She is a founding chancellor of the international Opportunity Collaboration for Poverty Alleviation, Chair of the Newport Tree and Open Space Commission, a member of the board of the Newport Tree Society, a founding investor in the International Social Marketing Association, a founding investor in the Impact Hub, and a legacy member of Social Venture Network.
